2022 Alameda County District Teachers of the Year

The Alameda County Office of Education is pleased to announce the 2022 Teachers of the Year, as selected by Alameda County school districts and regional occupational programs, in advance of the 33rd Annual Teacher of the Year Awards Ceremony on Thursday, October 6, at the Castro Valley Center for the Arts.

Eighteen honorees have been selected by 16 participating districts and regional occupational programs across the county. The honorees are recognized for their individual dedication and excellence in the classroom, and they collectively represent the more than 200,000 educators doing amazing work across Alameda County every day.

"The last two years have had a profound impact on how our schools operate, and teachers have been on the frontline through all of the changes," said Alameda County Superintendent of Schools L. K. Monroe. "It's my honor and privilege every year to get to recognize our Teachers of the Year for all their effort to make differences in the lives of students. These honorees personify the ACOE mission statement, 'to provide, promote, and support leadership and service to ensure the success of every child, in every school, every day.'"

All district-level honorees have the opportunity to submit an application for consideration to be recognized as an Alameda County Teacher of the Year, which will be selected in the coming months by a panel of educational leaders. The County honorees are then submitted for consideration for the California Teacher of the Year program, administered by the California Department of Education.
