Baywood Court, the nonprofit senior community in Castro Valley, celebrated its 33rd Anniversary on Thursday, June 15th, 2023. The vibrant senior community has become integral to the East Bay by providing residents with friendship and security for more than three decades to its residents. The team of more than 150 staff at Baywood Court is committed to seniors so they may live in health, happiness, and dignity.

For this year's anniversary, Baywood Court hosted a celebratory barbeque in their newly remodeled gazebo courtyard with a lively DJ, a raffle, and an array of delectable cuisine. Baywood Court invited local business partners to express their thanks for their endless support and encouragement throughout the years.

For residents, Baywood planned an all-day celebration with activities throughout the community. From carnival-themed games to an ice cream and popcorn social, the residents came together and celebrated this milestone while creating new memories.

Baywood Court was developed by Eden Hospital Health Services Corporation and opened in 1990. The corporate name was changed from Eden Hospital Health Services Corporation to Baywood Court in 2011. Baywood Court is a locally owned and operated California public-benefit corporation with its own Board of Directors.

Baywood Court takes pride in being a part of the residential community of Castro Valley and the surrounding area. Each year, the children and grandchildren of their residents and employees attend holiday events, enjoy barbecues, and participate in community celebrations.

Beyond their premises, Baywood Court has actively engaged with local organizations supporting charitable causes and has collaborated with community initiatives such as homeless outreach and elementary school reading programs contributing to the well-being of Castro Valley and surrounding communities.

“We are proud that Baywood Court has been a pillar of retirement living in Castro Valley for 33 years,” said Matt Neil, CEO of Baywood Court. “Our commitment to caring for our residents, providing a vibrant community, and pursuing excellence in all our services has profoundly benefited our residents' lives. We look to the future to enriching lives, fostering belonging, happiness, and fulfillment for all who live at Baywood for many decades.”

Over the years, Baywood has consistently upheld its promise of care and compassion, ensuring the residents feel supported and valued. The team of professionals, from caregivers to administrative staff, go above and beyond to create a nurturing environment that fosters a sense of belonging and contentment.

This year, the community launched a Wellness Elevated and In Motion program that focuses on helping residents achieve higher levels of physical, mental, and emotional well-being through a myriad of activities. The In Motion program also supports the wellness of its residents by offering personal training, wellness consulting, group classes, home safety, fitness challenges, injury rehabilitation and prevention, and health events. Both programs strive to target wellness holistically and empower individuals to steward their health fully.
