Jamal A. Cooks, PhD, spoke at the Rotary Club of Castro Valley on July 9. Dr. Cooks described the many benefits of community colleges in general and Chabot College in particular. He wants Chabot to be a leader in education, period. He told Rotary members that he is emphasizing high-quality academics, supporting the local workforce, and encouraging and preparing students for civic engagement at the college.
