County Fair awards ‘Best of Show’ to CV Artist Rita Sklar
Local Artist Rita Sklar is an award-winning artist. She has received over forty-five awards for artistic excellence and is a Signature Member of the California Watercolor Association. She accepted the “Award of Distinction” from the National Museum of Women in the Arts. She was a finalist for the BBC International Wildlife Artist. Her paintings have been selected into national shows by acclaimed jurors. Ms Sklar received a commission from the Alameda County Art Commission and two grants from the Oakland Cultural Arts Fund.
She recently gave at talk about her bird paintings and climate change at the Hayward Library. Her paintings were also featured at the Castro Valley Library.
Stanford Children’s Hospital commissioned eight of her works. Her paintings are in prominent government, corporate and private collections.
Sklar is a member of Art Inc, the Hayward Arts Council and the Pleasanton Arts League.
The Alameda County Fair runs from June 17 to July 10 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. Fine Arts Through the Artists Eyes (fine art, painting, photography) can be found in The Courtyard.
