Castro Valley insurance specialist, Tony Alvino got special recognition by members of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office last week. Deputy Ruben Pola and the ACSO Crime Prevention team made a surprise appearance on July 20 at the Central County Marketing Group or CCMG (a large group of local realtors, lenders, and housing professionals which meets every Wednesday at Knudsen’s Ice Creamery in Castro Valley). Alvino was given special recognition for his part in apprehending a male assailant. On May 4, a woman ran into the Ice Creamery during a CCMG meeting reporting a strange man was after her. After calling 911, Alvino and others protected the woman. After deputies arrived, the man became combative. Alvino tackled the suspect while he was fighting with the deputy.  The man was taken into custody.
