CV Rotary Demotes Outgoing President, Installs New President

Rotary Club of Castro Valley’s New President Lytrel Carter and Outgoing President Dwight Perry

The Rotary Club of Castro Valley’s 2021-22 President Dwight Perry was demoted, and Lytrel Carter was installed as the 2022-23 President at a BBQ at Rowell Ranch Rodeo Grounds on Tuesday, June 28. More than seventy-five members and guests attended, including Perry’s wife, Barbara, daughter and son-in-law, long-time friends Jim and Nancy Farrell, Jon and Linda Grant, Erma Smith, Lucy Lorge, and the current and incoming Rotary District 5170 Governors Richard Flanders and Savita Vaidhyanathan.

A catered meal of appetizers (shrimp, crab cakes, sushi), dinner (filet mignon, salmon, shrimp, multiple types of vegetables and salad) and a variety of desserts were served.

A humorous skit presented by Past Club Presidents highlighting President Perry’s year of leadership entertained all present. Additionally, both Outgoing President Perry’s Board and Incoming President Carter’s Board were recognized.

President Carter’s theme for 2022-23 is “Be Present” emphasizing being present at club meetings and within the communities we serve locally, nationally and internationally.

The Rotary Club of Castro Valley is currently providing hybrid meetings with both in-person luncheons at Redwood Canyon and online on Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m. Speakers and links to the meetings are posted at www.castrovalleyrotary.org under Upcoming Events. The Club welcomes individuals who want to make a positive impact locally, nationally, and internationally. Rotary International is an international non-sectarian service club. It has been active in Castro Valley since 1953.
