HARD Seeks Community Feedback on Ashland Artwork
The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (H.A.R.D.) is calling on community members to provide their input on the future artwork for the Ashland Roots Center, a new community center currently under construction on E. 14th Street in Ashland.
The proposed artwork will be displayed on the center's windows, visible from both inside and outside, and will remain on display for several years. This project is a collaboration between H.A.R.D. and the Alameda County Arts Commission. Five artists have submitted design proposals, and one will be chosen for this project. These artists were selected by a panel comprising community members and H.A.R.D. staff.
H.A.R.D. is particularly interested in hearing from Ashland residents and future users of the community center and adjacent park. The feedback will play a crucial role in helping the selection panel recommend one artist to the H.A.R.D. Board of Directors, who will make the final decision. Community comments - are a vital part of the process to ensure the best artwork is chosen for Ashland and its new community hub.
Your input is greatly valued, and we look forward to incorporating the community’s voice in selecting the perfect artwork for the Ashland Roots Center. To view the artwork proposals and submit your feedback, please visit the links below. The deadline for submitting comments is October 13, 2024.
