Inner Wheel Club of SL Chili Cook-Off

The first recorded chili contest was conducted on October 4, 1952 at the Texas State Fair. One purpose of the contest was to restore chili’s prestige in things gastronomic. “Real chili must have the strength to chin itself and possess the authority of a Marine buck sergeant!” Inner Wheel Club of San Leandro continued with this prestigious event with its recent Chili Cook-Off at the lovely home of Bruce, Sherrie, and Kristie Barnes. Everyone enjoyed an afternoon of Corn Hole, What’s in the Box, Pick Your Charity, Foundation Fun-Raising, Tic Tac Toe & Ginn Rummy games. Salads, cornbread, cookies, and of course a variety of delicious chilis were on the menu. It was so nice to have many of the SL Rotary Club members join us. The winner of the Chili Cook-Off was Rotarian Morgan Mack-Rose. Congratulations to all the participants! The event was certainly a perfect blend of flavor, friendship, and fun!
