Record Attendance Expected at 2022 Hike for Hope
Over 1,100 individuals have signed up for the 2022 Hike for Hope taking place on Saturday, May 14, at Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore. The number is the highest ever in the fundraiser’s 12-year history. (The first event was held in 2010, but two years were skipped.) The previous record was 701 participants in 2011.
“Our team is ecstatic at the response from the community this year,” says Hope’s Director of Philanthropy Marc Rovetti. “Many are coming as a family to hike in memory of a loved one, which was the initial focus of this event when it launched in 2010. But over the years, the event has evolved into an opportunity for the whole community to join in support of the work we do. The money we raise directly supports patient care and important programs for family caregivers in the East Bay.”
The Hike for Hope is an annual fundraiser for Hope Hospice. Money raised through registrations and peer-to-peer supporting donations benefits patient care and helps keep grief support, dementia education, and family caregiver resources available to the public at no charge. The community’s participation helps Hope Hospice care for more than 2,000 East Bay neighbors each year.
