Rotary Club of Castro Valley Partners with Eden Medical Center to Provide Gifts to Ruby’s Place and FESCO

Kathleen Jose Le and Dana McBenttes of Eden Medical Center and Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation delivered forty-three gifts and toys plus $900 in gift certificates from Target, movie theaters, and an assortment of restaurants from their staff members to CV Rotarian Bruce D. Johnson to assist the Rotary Club of Castro Valley and Castro Valley Office of the California Highway Patrol provide gifts and toys to almost 200 children who are spending Christmas at Ruby’s Place, a nonprofit “committed to ending domestic violence, human trafficking, and violent crime through hope, advocacy, and connection,” and FESCO Family Shelters, a nonprofit committed to “Helping Homeless Children and Their Parents Find a Warm, Loving Home.”

This year will be the second that the Rotary Club’s Children’s Christmas Party for these organizations is not being held due to Covid-19. However, Rotary President Dwight Perry and Children’s Christmas Party Chair Mark Poniatowski were not going to let the children do without the best Christmas experience “the Rotary Club of Castro Valley”can provide.

The Castro Valley Office of the California Highway Patrol has been the primary partner for more than a decade and continues to provide gifts today.

Although Santa Claus and his helper will not be arriving this year by fire engine, thanks to the Alameda County Fire Department, gifts and wrapping paper will be provided along with gift certificates!
