Scout Donates Hair to Locks for Love
Anthony is 17 years old and a member of Scout Troop 701 in Castro Valley. For the last 2 and 1/2 years, he has been growing out his hair in anticipation of being able to donate his healthy curly hair to Locks for Love.
Late last month, his mom cut off his long locks and mailed them to Locks for Love. His mom is so thankful that the haircut finally happened, says Scout leader Tina Mitchell.
“He is such a sweet soul and enjoys giving back to the community,” Mitchell said. “He enjoys being ‘helpful,’ a principle found in the Scout Law.”
