On Saturday September 9, The Castro Valley Bocce Group held their second annual Appreciation Day Tournament on the Ken Martin bocce courts at Adobe Park.  This event was created to share friendships, our appreciation for each other and to bring people who were once total strangers together through Bocce in our wonderful community of Castro Valley.

The people who participate range in ages from teens to centenarians. If you would like to play some Bocce please come by the courts on any Wednesday or Saturday morning.  There are no fees, no dues, no memberships and no prior skills required.   This is a community activity, and all are welcomed.

This year’s event was extra special with Brian Schott, of  Big Apple Bagels Castro Valley, who graciously donated box lunches of made to order bagel sandwiches for all the players in the tournament.   Brian, the Castro Valley Bocce Group expresses its deepest gratitude for your contribution to our event and making the day so enjoyable for so many.

All proceeds earned at the tournament are donated to the GEORGE MARK CHILDREN'S HOUSE, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
