The 32nd Annual Children’s Book Illustrator Show
The 32nd Annual Children’s Book Illustrator Show at the Sun Gallery in downtown Hayward has begun! 1015 E Street.
Linda Lens, Castro Valley illustrator of all three books in the bilingual series, inspired by author and veteran Graciela Tiscareño-Sato's decade of active-duty Air Force service, will be at the reception September 10th from 1 to 4 p.m.
The duo is about to publish the third book in the international-award-winning series, titled Taking Flight with Captain Mama/Despegando con Capitán Mamá, next month.
Visitors to the Sun Gallery will be the first anywhere to see six of Lens's original pieces of art that will be launched into the world in early October.
The Sun Gallery is offering the first two books in the series [Good Night, Captain Mama/Buenas noches, Capitán Mamá and Captain Mama's Surprise/ La sorpresa de Capitán Mamá] from now through October 15th... full length of show.
The Gallery also has a supply of free Captain Mama bookmarks for kids to take home during school fields trips.
Lens and Tiscareño-Sato will be signing books and taking photos with fans during the September 10th reception (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.)
