The Weather and You

Near record highs were recorded earlier this week as high temperatures for the first and 2nd day of April were the warmest since last Fall.  Highs reached the low to mid 70’s.  Both Hayward and Oakland Airports topped the 70 degree mark. However the nice weather  will only be a memory as a cold storm from there Gulf of Alaska later today (Thursday). Rain is likely for the evening commute changing to showers late tonight and Friday morning before skies clear.  In Some cases Friday temperatures will be at least 15 to as much as 20  degrees colder than earlier in the week. Nights will be much colder as well. Low temperatures have been mostly in the 40’s and low 50’s  Overnight lows will drop into the 30’s especially in the 680 corridor and the Tri-Valley.  It hasn’t been that cold in weeks. Longer range forecasts show a weaker front moves in Sunday with a possibility of more showers. Right now, the forecast models are showing yet another front from the Gulf of Alaska around mid month.  Bottom line is below normal temperatures are likely thru mid month.
