Family Fight at Apartments

Thursday, December 21: at 6:08 p.m., Sheriff's deputies arrested a 24-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member. The woman was at an apartment on Wisteria Street near Ganic Street when deputies responded to a call about an altercation. Deputies took the woman into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

Caught Stealing Books from the Library

Wednesday, December 20: at 8:37 a.m., a 34-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and stealing books from the public library. Deputies caught up with the man in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant on Castro Valley Boulevard near Yeandle Avenue. The man was taken into custody.

Wanted Man Caught Near BART

Tuesday, December 19: at 6:45 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 45-year-old man from Castro Valley as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man had been previously convicted of two counts of possessing stolen property. Deputies stopped the man in the Castro Valley BART parking lot on Norbridge Avenue after running his license plate and confirming the warrant. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Tuesday, December 19: at 10:10 a.m., a 63-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man had previously been convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies confirmed his warrant while the man was visiting Eden Medical Center on Lake Chabot Road. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

Arsonist Arrested

Tuesday, December 19: at 12:45 p.m., deputies arrested a 39-year-old man with no permanent residence as part of a warrant issued for his arrest. The man was traveling on Fairmont Drive near the former juvenile hall when deputies stopped him for questioning and confirmed his warrant. The man had been previously convicted of arson in a wooded area. Deputies took the man into custody.
