Spousal Assault
Sunday, June 11: at 9:08 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 34-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of spousal assault. The man was at a home on San Simeon Place near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies arrived. Deputies took the man into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Stolen Property
Sunday, June 11: at 10:18 a.m., a 34-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property. Deputies caught up with the man in front of a business on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard after a store manager called about a theft. The man was also found to have a warrant issued for his arrest related to drug charges. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
Elder Abuse
Saturday, June 10: at 3:50 p.m., deputies arrested a 52-year-old man on suspicion of elder abuse and violating the terms of a restraining order. The man was found within 100 feet of a home on Somerset Avenue near Betrose Court. Deputies took the man into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Shoplifter Caught
Thursday, June 8: at 8:48 p.m., a 57-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from a grocery store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road. The man was also found to have illegal fentanyl and methamphetamine in his possession. Deputies took the man into custody.
Assault and Vandalism
Wednesday, June 7: at 2:30 p.m., deputies arrested a 21-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of assault and vandalism. The man was seen getting into an altercation with a resident at an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him into custody.
Warrant Served
Wednesday, June 7: at 12:54 p.m., a 34-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was previously convicted of refusing to leave a property by a manager even after being asked. Deputies caught up with the man in front of a business on Patio Drive in the Castro Village Shopping Center. The man was taken into custody.
Mail Theft
Tuesday, June 6: at 6:33 a.m., deputies arrested a 33-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of mail theft, possessing stolen property, and giving a false ID to authorities. The man also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest related to vandalism charges. Deputies caught up with the man as he was walking down Vegas Avenue near Redwood Road and took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
Trespassing with Stolen Property
Monday, June 5: at 9:24 a.m., a 25-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen merchandise, vandalism, breaking into a business, and resisting arrest. The man also had an outstanding warrant related to a restraining order. Deputies responded to a silent alarm at a business on Redwood Road near Grove Way and found the man. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
