Robbery and Battery

Saturday, March 29: At 6:30 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 21-year-old Castro Valley man suspected of robbery, battery, refusing to leave a business, violating the terms of his parole, and possessing illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was detained by security at a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard after he tried to leave with unpaid merchandise. Deputies took the man into custody.

 

Fighting in the Street

Thursday, March 27: At 11:27 a.m., a 38-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of fighting in public. Deputies were called to the intersection of Redwood Road and Lessley Avenue following reports of an altercation. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Spousal Assault and Robbery

Tuesday, March 25: At 2:00 a.m., a 9-1-1 call about an altercation between a couple sent deputies to a business on Lake Chabot Road near Eden Medical Center. There, they arrested a 23-year-old Castro Valley man on suspicion of spousal assault, vandalism of private property, and robbery. Deputies took the man into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Intoxicated and in the Wrong Place

Thursday, March 27: At 9:36 a.m., deputies arrested a 55-year-old woman with no permanent residence on suspicion of public intoxication and violating a restraining order. Deputies responded to a grocery store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road following a report that a woman was passed out near the store entrance. She had been required to stay at least 100 yards from the store. Deputies took her into custody.

 

Domestic Violence and Drugs

Sunday, March 23: At 10:32 p.m., a 46-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested on suspicion of spousal assault, possessing illegal narcotics, violating the terms of his parole, and ignoring a restraining order. Deputies were called to a parking lot of a business on Lake Chabot Road near Congress Way. There, they handcuffed the man and took him into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Traffic Stop Ends in Arrest

Monday, March 24: At 2:05 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 45-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and driving intoxicated. The man was traveling on Grove Way near Redwood Road when deputies stopped him for a traffic violation. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
