Wanted Man Charged with DUI

Monday, May 30 at 4:00 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 61-year-old man from Castro Valley as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was at a home on Edwards Lane near Center Street when deputies served the warrant. The man had been previously charged with driving under the influence of alcohol over the legal limit and damaging public property. Deputies took the man into custody.

 

Domestic Assault

Monday, May 30: at 12:15 a.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a mobile home on Castro Valley Boulevard near Forest Avenue. There, they arrested a 22-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member. The woman was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Charged with Elder Abuse

Sunday, May 29: at 3:19 p.m., deputies arrested a 41-year-old man from Castro Valey as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man had been previously charged with elder abuse. Deputies served the warrant following a traffic stop on Redwood Road near Vegas Avenue. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Squatter Arrested

Sunday, May 29: at 4:57 a.m., a 35-year-old woman with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of breaking into and occupying an empty building on A Street near Ruby Street. Deputies responded to a report of a break-in at the address. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Spousal Assault, Illegal Weapons

Saturday, May 28: at 10:56 p.m., deputies arrested a 37-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of spousal assault and illegal possession of an assault weapon. The man was at a home on Alta Mira Court near Camino Alta Mira when deputies arrived following an anonymous tip about an altercation at the home. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Altercation Outside a Fast-Food Restaurant

Saturday, May 28: at 2:31 a.m., a 22-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of assault on a family member, making death threats, and threatening with a deadly weapon. Deputies responded to a report of an altercation outside a fast-food restaurant on Castro Valley Boulevard near Nunes Avenue. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Charged with Grand Theft

Thursday, May 26: at 2:22 p.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old man from Castro Valley as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was traveling on Redwood Road near Jamison Way when deputies stopped him for questioning and made a positive ID on his warrant. The man had previously been charged with grand theft from another person. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Family Assault, Illegal Weapon

Wednesday, May 25: at 10:00 p.m., a 44-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of spousal assault and illegal possession of an assault weapon. Deputies responded to a report of a loud and aggressive-sounding argument coming from a home on Maffey Drive near Joseph Drive. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Threatened with a Deadly Weapon

Tuesday, May 24: at 6:00 p.m., a 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of threatening another person with a deadly weapon. Deputies responded to an altercation outside a home on Vannoy Avenue near Madison Avenue. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Family Fight Uncovers Warrant

Monday, May 23: at 1:34 p.m., deputies arrested a 46-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member, violating a court-issued restraining order, and making death threats. The man was at a home on Rizzo Avenue near Lake Chabot Road when deputies responded to calls about a fight at the home. The man was also found to have a warrant issued for his arrest on previous charges of a suspended driver’s license. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail. The victim was treated at the scene.
