Fighting in the Street

Sunday, November 24: At 1:30 a.m., Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two men from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault and battery. The men were outside a business on Lake Chabot Road near Eden Medical Center and involved in an altercation when deputies arrived. A 22-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were handcuffed and taken into custody. The older man also was charged with destroying private property.

 

Attempted Break-In at a Supermarket

Saturday, November 23: At 9:05 a.m., three people without permanent residence were arrested for an attempted break-in at a grocery store on Redwood Road near Grove Way. Deputies responded to a call from the manager about someone trying to access a container in the back. A 53-year-old man was charged with breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of methamphetamine drugs and pepper spray, and violating the terms of his parole. A 42-year-old man was also charged with breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit a crime, and possessing illegal drug paraphernalia. A 43-year-old woman who was with the men was charged with possessing illegal narcotics. All three were taken into custody.

 

Possessing Stolen Property

Friday, November 23: At 10:06 a.m., deputies arrested a 45-year-old Castro Valley man suspected of possessing stolen property. The man was hanging outside a home on Grove Way near Vergil Street when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

 

Spousal Assault

Wednesday, November 21: At 10:31 p.m., a 9-1-1 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way. There, they arrested a 23-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of spousal assault. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Busted for Drugs

Tuesday, November 20: At 10:00 p.m., deputies arrested a 35-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of possessing illegal narcotics and related drug paraphernalia. The man was spotted doing drugs outside a business on Patio Drive in the Castro Village Shopping Center. Deputies took the man into custody.

 

Arrested for Trespassing 

Sunday, November 18: at 10:45 a.m., a 41-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of trespassing at a residence on Elm Street near Juniper Street. Deputies responded to the homeowner's call about a suspicious person in his backyard. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.
