Roland Williams, CVSan General Manager, will describe two award-winning major projects by CVSan and the Oro Loma Sanitary District. The first is a cutting-edge ecotone, or horizontal levee, designed to mitigate sea level rise. The second is a nutrient optimization project, which has drastically reduced the amounts of algal-producing contaminants discharged to the San Francisco Bay. A buffet lunch and the program take place at Redwood Canyon Golf Course (17007 Redwood Road, Castro Valley) at 12-1:30 p.m. The cost of lunch is $20 and reservations must be made by 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 31, by contacting Rotary at cvrotary@iCloud.com or 510-402-5123.
