Community Comes Together for Our Children
Dear Editor,
The members of the Rotary Club of Castro Valley were overwhelmed by the support of multiple organizations, companies and individuals working together to provide a memorable Christmas for the children in our community!
This year more than 200 toys, gifts and gift certificates were distributed to multiple shelters whose children are the beneficiaries of the generosity of others.
We were blessed by so many working together including The Castro Valley Office of the CHP, under the leadership of Commander Holeman and Officers Daniel Jacowitz and Tom Gowin; Fire Chief William McDonald and The Alameda County Fire Department Castro Valley Station 25; DJ Robert Hoffman of Club Anywhere; CEO Roland Williams and the Castro Valley Sanitary District; Superintendent Al Hearne, PhD, and Redwood Christian Schools; Superintendent Parvin Armadi and Director at Castro Valley Adult and Career Education Beth Cutter, and Castro Valley Unified School District; and Castro Valley Rotarians Mark Poniatowski, Ceta Dochterman, Randy Vanderbilt and Dan Willits.
So many moving parts - all working together with one purpose in mind: providing a memorable Christmas party for children within our community.
I am so proud and honored to know each of these community leaders personally confident that they never seek personal recognition for their efforts or the efforts of their staff.
Let’s all look for opportunities to bring a smile to the children we are blessed to have all around us in our greater Castro Valley Community throughout the year, and to remember to pray for our Alameda County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol and Alameda County Sheriff’s officers and the men and women in uniform serving all of us around the world.
Blessings!
