Dear Ms. Spink…
Surely, you must know that DEI is a term used as a racist dog whistle that attempts to paint a candidate as less qualified.
1. There is no “best” candidate for Vice President. The nominee selects the VP candidate using their own criteria. The criteria is likely some combination of how the VP candidate helps the ticket and how they will do the job.
2. You have no clue what criteria Biden used in the selection process. You only know that he had settled on a woman by March 2020. He may have reviewed all the available candidates by then and determined the four women on his list were the best candidates available.
3. Clearly, Kamala Harris was an extremely well qualified candidate based on experience. She had experience as AG and Senator from the most populous state in the nation.
Do you think Republicans should select the “best” candidate available? How is it that their Presidential candidates are white males? Simple probability would tell us that a woman or a person of color would have been the "best" candidate at some point, right?
