Follow Protocol, Supervisors

Dear Editor,

While attending the Tuesday, August 9, 2022, Alameda County Board of Supervisors meeting it has come to my attention that two Supervisors had listed an item on the agenda without following proper procedure. This attempt to push through an issue wasted valuable time on the part of the Supervisors tending to business on the agenda as well as the community waiting for specific items to be discussed. Not to mention trying to sneak through an ordinance.

Thank you to Supervisor Nate Miley for condemning this action and asking for proper protocol to be followed. The comments by Supervisor David Haubert and Supervisor Keith Carson acknowledging Supervisor Miley’s efforts were also appreciated.

Please write to all Alameda County Supervisors and remind them to follow procedure, no matter what the issue.

As constituents we all deserve the best representation and effort from our elected officials.
