Hollywood Ignores Human Nature
Dear Editor,
Over the past four years, Hollywood executives have produced a series of “politically correct” action films. Nearly all of them have lost money, because most people do not enjoy them.
Hollywood executives have forgotten about human nature. They have forgotten why most people go to see “action” movies.
Men go to action films to they can identify with the hero character. While watching the film, men frequently imagine themselves in the role of the male action hero: strong, brave, athletic, and resourceful.
Most women also attend action films so they can fantasize about the male hero character. Of course their fantasy is slightly different. Women imagine themselves being with the hero, having a love relationship.
Both of these natural human fantasies require a male hero. But Hollywood insists on pushing female heroes on the public. These female heroes are strong, brave, athletic, and resourceful. Frankly, they are all very “masculine.”
Unfortunately, a movie with a female hero offers no fantasy value for men. Men in the audience cannot imagine themselves as a female hero. And men will not experience any romantic fantasies about a female hero who is smarter and stronger than they are.
Likewise, female heroes do not offer any fantasy value for women. Most women are heterosexual, and they are not going to fantasize about having a love affair with “She-Hulk.” And most women do not fantasize about being strong, brave, athletic and resourceful. Instead, most women fantasize about being beautiful, glamorous, desired my men, and envied by other women.
So Hollywood will continue to lose money, until they realize that “WOKISM” contradicts basic human nature.
