I Urge You to Elect Jennifer Esteen

One may agree that Nate Miley has helped improve some aspects of life in our unincorporated area during his 24 years as a supervisor.  What is most troubling are the decisions he has made in the past 3 years that have been self-serving and negatively impacted  unincorporated residents!

In addition to an overview of some of Miley’s practices in an article in the Davisvanguard (davisvanguard.org), his recent (1) creation of district boundaries in 2021–  splitting the City of Pleasanton (separating it from the rest of the Tri-Valley) and dividing the unincorporated areas; (2) endorsing the ousted Sheriff Ahern in the last election when AC residents had lost confidence in the sheriff;  (3) failure to implement the creations of a the Sheriff Oversight Commission and an Independent Redistricting Commission, as well as an Ethics Policy, further demonstrate his lack of ethics and commitment to the residents.

Finally we have a resident of our unincorporated area (Ashland) –JENNIFER ESTEEN—who can provide us  with leadership and progress. Her experience on the Eden MAC, Vice President of the Alameda Health Council (managing a $1 billion budget) and former VP of organizing for SEIU 1021 (Service Employees International Union), coupled with her work as a psychiatric nurse make her the best candidate to lead us through these difficult times of pandemics, unhoused and lawlessness.

Wilson Riles, who served with Miley on the Oakland City Council endorses Esteen and states

“Many more organizations and individuals other than me, have recognized Jennifer’s spirit, talent and intelligence, and are supporting her in this effort against a deeply entrenched incumbent.  As a former elected official, I know how easy it can be to overstay one's usefulness.”

I urge you to use the power of your vote March 5th to elect Jennifer Esteen!
