Memorial Day Seems to be an Afterthought

This Memorial Day, I had nearly the same experience as Mr. Spink.
My soon to be 10 year old granddaughter and I visited a cemetary we often do, but this time my granddaughter asked, "why are there so many flags around"? Almost made me want to cry.
Sure, kids are now being taught its ok to be a girl if you're a boy and the opposite, and drag queens show up at the school. But what about the value of learning about our history, and repecting those who gave their lives for own freedom. Memorial Day seems to be an afterthought in our school system.
Sad. Very sad.
