Small Towns NEED Small Businesses

Dear Editor,
Reflecting on the recent CV Light Parade, a Wonderful gathering which served to bring our little town closer together filling some local businesses to the brim. As well as the FORUM letter of a few weeks ago, where Vicki Stadelman reminded us to “Live, Shop, CV”. I began to ponder how our CV businesses are supported by each other. Or, are they??
What came to mind is our Unified School district and the yearly ritual of the School Picture.
I discovered that of the 13 schools in Castro Valley Unified THREE of them stay true to the Castro Valley Spirit by contracting with a Castro Valley business. I would like to publicly recognize the principles and staff of Stanton Elementary School, Creekside Middle School and Castro Valley High School for using a long time CV resident and business owner, Kurt Burton Photography! Way to go to show your support for Castro Valley! Hopefully others will be anxious to follow your lead to stay “at home” when looking for quality workmanship. Small Towns NEED Small Businesses.
