Tarot Card Reading is a Scam

The Castro Valley Branch of the Alameda County Library is at it again! Despite 35,166 active scam reports across our nation, the library has invited teacher and author Amber Jayanti to take participants “through the land of Tarot Card reading.” Tarot Card reading scams are used to bilk seniors, people grieving loved ones and the mentally ill out of their income and savings. Instead of teaching Tarot Card reading they should be exposing the dangers and practices associated with its crime. Why not invite a detective from the Fraud Unit of the Sheriff’s Dept., and one from Hayward PD to share their experience? W hen I phoned the library to express my concern I was told “it’s all in fun.” It is very sad to see our library become an unsavory place to visit.
