Castro Valley remembers its fallen service members during the annual Memorial Day service at the Castro Valley Veterans Memorial site. The VFW Post 9601 gave special recognition to its recently deceased including Glenn Barth, Peter Schantz, Gus Wright, and Larry Bronzini as well as Pearl Harbor survivor Mickey Ganitch.
