Motorcyclist Dies in Collision

One person died when his motorcycle collided with a dump truck on eastbound Interstate 580 last Friday morning. CHP report the accident happened around 7:22 a.m. Paramedics were immediately dispatched but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have yet to release the name of the deceased until they notify the family.

The crash caused a backup along 580 heading toward Dublin. All lanes were reopened around 9:00 a.m., the CHP reported.

The cause of the fatal crash is yet unknown and the driver of the dump truck is cooperating with the investigation.
