The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is looking for witnesses who may have seen a road rage-related shooting that happened near Foothill Boulevard and Castro Valley Boulevard on Monday, December 11, around 12:40 p.m.

A 70-year-old man and his 14-year-old dog were in a Ford Ranger pickup truck heading eastbound into Castro Valley when another driver tried to pass him, started trying to cut him off, and shot the bed of his truck twice before speeding off.

The man said he was startled, but fortunately, no one was hurt. He drove to the California Highway Patrol station on Redwood Road to report the incident.

ACSO detectives say the suspect vehicle was possibly a white or light-colored sedan.
