Shrieks and Scares for a Cause

Chabot Elementary School's Shriek-A-Rama was held on Friday, October 28. The annual fundraising program was put on by the Parents Club with Castro Valley Rotary Club as a major sponsor. Many parents put together activities for the children including a haunted classroom, cake walk, spooky carnival games, and decorate-your-own caramel apple. Proceeds, including a canned food drive, went to supporting community programs. Also helping were Castro Valley High School students, who are members of the Castro Valley High School Interact Club. Interact Clubs are an important branch of the greater Rotary youth programs that invite students to get important chances to develop leadership skills while also focusing on the Rotary credo of "Service-Above-Self."
