Suspects Sought in Two Carjacking Incidents

Last Tuesday, five men pulled a woman from her car at gunpoint as she attempted to exit her driveway on Sydney Way near Stanton Avenue. Alameda County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) Lieutenant Tya Modeste says the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. All five men wore black face masks and dark clothing. The woman was unharmed.

The carjacked vehicle is a black 2016 Nissan Sentra with California plates (8MMT942).

The carjacking occurred within a few minutes before an attempted theft of a second vehicle at the Mobile gas station on Lake Chabot Road and Quail Avenue. In that case, LT. Modest says the woman was able to “flee in her vehicle to safety.”

“During both carjacking incidents, the suspects drove the 2014 silver Hyundai Elantra with California plates (7EUB455), which was subsequently determined to be an unreported stolen vehicle.”

ACSO is hoping neighbors may have video surveillance footage of either incident. Anyone with information to call 510-667-7721.
