Creekside Varsity Flag Football Team

Our Athletes of the Week are the Creekside Varsity Flag Football team, who won the 2024 Southern Alameda County Middle Athletic League (SACMAL) Championship game on December 19, 2024, against crosstown rival Canyon Middle School Condors with a final score of 20-8. Besides winning over Canyon, the Wildcats’ SACMAL victory is significant because it is the first time a Castro Valley Varsity team won the title in 11 years. The same two teams battled earlier last year in the annual Battle of the Valley in Flag Football game. Creekside also won that game 18-0, the first time in eight years.
