Our Athletes of the week are the Castro Valley 2012 Soccer Club Green Team. The boys participated in the Davis Legacy Tournament Series Super Clasico (Summer Edition). The annual summer tourament was held this month on August 13-14. The Green Team played four games in 100-degree weather. They lost to Tiburon Peninsula Soccer 1-0 in the first bracket but beat Merced United FC 3-1 in their second bracket. Castro Valley then dominated Montclair Soccer Club to a score of 3-1 in the semifinals and ended up beating Marin FC in a penalty shoot-out taking home first place in their division.
