Don Ott

Our Athlete of the Week is Don Ott. This Castro Valley resident is the batting champion of the Hayward Area Senior Softball 60s league, hitting a whopping .844, tied for the league lead in home runs, and finished second in RBI. He had a stretch of 25 consecutive at-bats with hits, and twice during the season, he hit for the cycle. As the shortstop for the Raiders - who won both the regular season and tournament championships - he was selected as the team's recipient of the Gene Jones Award for enthusiasm and team spirit.
