Levi Friesen

Our Athlete of the Week is Levi Friesen, a Senior at Castro Valley High School who transformed from a promising young runner to a state-bound champion.

His exceptional performance last month in the North Coast Section (NCS) Championships at Hayward High School earned him a spot at the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Cross Country Championship with a personal record finish of 17:01. Friesen first ran as a Freshman for the Trojans and was chosen for the Varsity team in his Sophomore year. He is currently a team captain. Friesen’s coaches say his dedication to his teammates and his positive attitude have fostered a strong team spirit. In the fall of 2025, Levi will continue his running career both in Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor Track at Goshen College in Goshen Indiana, a Christian college. Levi is now preparing for the 2025 CVHS track season and the next chapter of his athletic career at Goshen College. His story serves as a reminder that with hard work, dedication, and a strong support system, anything is possible.
