Hayward Church Holds Blood Drive Event
The World Mission Society Church of God in Hayward, California, in partnership with Stanford Blood Center, hosted a blood drive on Sunday, Oct. 30. On a global scale, this marks the Church of God’s 1107th worldwide blood drive effort to spread awareness about the New Covenant Passover. The COVID-19 pandemic, particularly the omicron surge, has triggered a critical blood shortage across the Bay Area and the country. The Bay Area community is in need of blood donations and the World Mission Society Church of God members rallied together to help save lives. Understanding how essential blood donations are to save lives, the church members also held a bible seminar to show how essential it is to celebrate the Passover—a Christian feast containing Christ blood that saves our souls by granting eternal life. The blood drive garnered regional support with church members coming from throughout the Bay Area including San Jose, San Francisco, Sacramento Stockton, Concord, Roseville, Santa Rosa, and Salinas. Additionally, some donors even came from as far as Redding! Together the volunteers collected 34 whole blood productive units which impacted the lives of approximately 102 patients, plus two from the double red cell donation, for a total of 104 lives impacted by the lifesaving donations collected Sunday.
