Local Crowd Calls for a Cease-Fire in Gaza

About 40 protesters marched to Congressman Eric Swalwell’s (D-CA 14th District) Castro Valley office to call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. Similar protests were held at Representative Anna Eshoo and Jared Huffman’s Bay Area offices. Swalwell was in Washington at the time but did hold a video conference with the crowd. Swalwell said he welcomed the group peacefully expressing their concerns.

“I support the current negotiated ceasefire, where hostages are coming out of Gaza and aid is going in. That should be extended as long as it can save hostage lives and bring aid to innocent Palestinians. I will be holding a town hall soon to address this and other concerns of my constituents," Swalwell said in a statement.
