He Fought the Law and the Law Won
Monday, April 24: at 3:38 a.m., Sheriff's deputies arrested a 24-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of public intoxication, providing a false ID, and assault and battery on a peace officer. The man was traveling on Grove Way near Morales Court when deputies stopped him for questioning. The man said he had been drinking but became confrontational when he failed his field sobriety test. Deputies took the man into custody.
Caused a Commotion in the Produce Isle
Monday, April 24: at 2:28 a.m., a 31-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of interfering with the flow of a business and possessing illegal drug paraphernalia. Deputies were called to a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard after security detained a man who was harassing employees and customers. The man was taken into custody.
Drunk and Disorderly
Sunday, April 23: at 9:44 p.m., deputies arrested a 41-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of public intoxication, providing a false ID, and assault and battery on a peace officer. The man was hanging outside a restaurant in the Castro Village Shopping Center when deputies responded to a report of an intoxicated person in the sitting area. Deputies report that the man became aggressive when asked for his ID and took a swing at deputies during his sobriety check. The man was taken into custody.
In Contempt of Court Order
Sunday, April 23: at 12:54 a.m., a 22-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of violating the terms of a court-issued restraining order. Deputies stopped the man for questioning in front of an apartment on Wisteria Street near Castro Valley Boulevard following reports of a suspicious person. The man was found to be within 100 yards of the address he was asked to stay away from. Deputies took the man into custody.
Caught with Illegal Narcotics
Friday, April 21: at 5:59 a.m., deputies arrested a 54-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of possessing illegal narcotics and fentanyl drugs and in violation of a restraining order. The man was stopped for questioning outside a home on Grove Way near North Fifth Street. Deputies took the man into custody.
Robbery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Thursday, April 20: at 8:44 a.m., a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies responded to a call from a manager at a grocery store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road about a shoplifter that assaulted one of his employees. The man was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail.
Traffic Stop Ends in Arrest
Wednesday, April 19: at 11:58 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of methamphetamine drugs and related drug paraphernalia. The man was traveling on Interstate 580 and was pulled over near the Eden Canyon Road offramp. Deputies discovered the drugs during questioning, and the man was taken into custody.
Possession of Stolen Property
Tuesday, April 18: at 8:06 a.m., a 40-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen merchandise. Deputies caught up with the woman in front of a home on Charlene Way near Redwood Road, where they discovered the merchandise. The woman was taken into custody.
Trespasser Gets Violent
Monday, April 17: at 6:49 a.m., deputies arrested a 45-year-old woman with no permanent residence on suspicion of trespassing, assault and battery, and providing a false ID to law enforcement. The woman was found camped out behind a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Anita Avenue. When they asked her to move along, deputies report that the woman became confrontational. She was taken into custody.
He Pulled a Gun as a Threat
Monday, April 17: at 11:25 a.m., a 52-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of drawing a firearm on someone in a threatening manner in a way that the victim was afraid of bodily harm. Deputies responded to an argument at a home on Center Street near Omega Avenue, where they found the suspect with his weapon drawn on. The man was taken into custody.
