Caught with Narcotics
Sunday, August 29: at 5:44 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 27-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics. The man was traveling on Redwood Road near Jamison Way when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.
Methamphetamine Drugs in His Pocket
Saturday, August 28: at 4:04 p.m., a 38-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. Deputies responded to a call about a suspicious person on Catalina Drive near Modesto Street when they stopped the man for questioning and found the drugs in his pocket. The man was taken into custody.
Resisting Arrest
Saturday, August 28: at 1:22 a.m., deputies arrested a 44-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of resisting arrest. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Wisteria Street when deputies stopped him for questioning. The man became confrontational and attempted to flee. Deputies stopped him and took him into custody.
Refused to Leave Restaurant
Thursday, August 26: at 10:56 a.m., a 35-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of failing to leave a business despite repeated requests from the manager. Deputies were called to a restaurant on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road after a complaint call was filed against the man for refusing to leave. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.
Assault and Battery Outside Bank
Thursday, August 26: at 9:46 a.m., deputies arrested a 25-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of assault and battery, possession of false identification, and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was attempting to access an account at the bank with a false ID. When he failed, the man tried leaving but got into an altercation. Deputies also found a pipe used for smoking drugs in his pocket. The man was taken into custody.
He Fought with Deputies
Wednesday, August 25: at 10:11 a.m., a 36-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics and related drug paraphernalia as well as resisting arrest. Deputies stopped the man for questioning outside a fast-food restaurant on Grove Way near Center Street. The man revealed he had the drugs in his pockets but became confrontational when deputies attempted to arrest him. Deputies took the man into custody.
Domestic Assault
Tuesday, August 24: at 5:31 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on Gary Drive near Grove Way. There, they arrested a 45-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member. Deputies took the man into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Wanted Woman
Monday, August 23: at 11:10 p.m., deputies arrested a 26-year-old woman from Castro Valley as part of a warrant issued for her capture. The woman was traveling on Lake Chabot Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies stopped her for questioning and identified her warrant. The woman was previously charged with two counts of driving under the influence of drugs, two counts of driving without a valid license, assault on a family member. Deputies took the woman to Santa Rita Jail pending bail.
Public Intoxication
Monday, August 23: at 3:59 p.m., a 46-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies stopped the man for questioning in front of a business in the Castro Village shopping center on Rustic Drive when they smelled alcohol on his breath. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into a sobering center.
Sex Offender Failed to Register
Monday, August 23: at 7:36 a.m., deputies arrested a 67-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender with local authorities. The man was traveling on Norbridge Avenue near the Castro Valley BART station when deputies stopped him for questioning. The man was also found with illegal drug paraphernalia in his possession. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
