Sheriff's Report: August 30 - September 6
Stolen Property
Thursday, September 2: at 3:49 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies pulled over and arrested a 28-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of stolen property, driving without a valid driver’s license, and possession of illegal narcotics. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near San Miguel Avenue when deputies stopped him for a traffic citation. Deputies report finding his stash in the car. The man was taken into custody.
Family Assault
Thursday, September 2: at 12:51 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way. There, they arrested a 41-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member. Deputies took the woman into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Driving with Concealed Weapons
Thursday, September 2: at 10:24 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 24-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving with invalid vehicle registration and illegal possession of a concealed weapon. The man was driving on Castro Valley Boulevard near Stanton Avenue when deputies spotted his tags were out of date. The ensuing search of the vehicle resulted in multiple concealed firearms. The man was taken into custody.
Busted for Drugs
Tuesday, August 31: at 7:30 p.m., a 40-year-old woman with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics and related drug paraphernalia. Deputies stopped the woman for questioning in a parking lot on Castro Valley Boulevard and Redwood Road where they discovered her stash. The woman was taken into custody.
Reckless Driving
Tuesday, August 31: at 12:29 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 30-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of reckless driving and driving with an invalid driver’s license. The man was seen speeding westbound on Interstate 580 when deputies pulled him off the freeway at the Castro Valley Boulevard exit. Deputies took the man into custody.
Public Intoxication
Tuesday, August 31: at 2:42 p.m., a 53-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies stopped the man for questioning in front of a home on Santa Maria Avenue near Somerset Avenue. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken to a sobering center.
Methamphetamine Drugs
Monday, August 30: at 3:28 p.m., deputies arrested a 30-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. The man was traveling on Grove Way near Redwood Road when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.
Spousal Assault
Monday, August 30: at 1:17 p.m., a 26-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of spousal assault. Deputies responded to an anonymous tip about an altercation at a home on Grove Way near Morales Court. The woman was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
