Sheriff’s Report: December 4 - 11

Public Intoxication

Friday, December 8: at 6:47 p.m., Sheriff's deputies arrested a 36-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was found passed out in the parking lot of a restaurant on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road. Deputies woke him and smelled alcohol on his breath. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Wanted for Drunken, Reckless Driving

Thursday, December 7: at 11:31 a.m., a 27-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested as part of a warrant issued for her capture. Deputies served the warrant at an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way. The woman had been previously convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit, as well as reckless driving. Deputies took the woman to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Child Endangerment

Wednesday, December 6: at 12:40 p.m., deputies arrested a 44-year-old woman from Castro Valley for child endangerment. The woman was at a home on Crane Avenue near Winifred Drive when deputies did a wellness check and found the woman involved with drugs and alcohol while responsible for a minor. Deputies took the woman into custody. The children were cared for until another adult was contacted.

 

Breaking and Entering

Wednesday, December 6: at 1:37 p.m., a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of breaking and entering into a home on Keith Avenue near Lake Chabot Road. Deputies responded to a silent alarm at the home and found the man had broken in. The man was also found possessing illegal drug paraphernalia. Deputies took him into custody.

 

Concealed Knife and Brass Knuckles

Monday, December 4: at 10:37 p.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of carrying a concealed knife with a blade longer than 4 inches, brass knuckles, and giving deputies false identification. The man was found to also have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He had been previously convicted of shoplifting, grand theft, petty theft, holding a false ID, and possession of a lock pick and illegal drug paraphernalia. Deputies stopped the man for questioning outside a business in the Castro Village Shopping Center and found his stash. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Shoplifter Resisted Arrest.

Monday, December 4: at 7:06 p.m., a 23-year-old man was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. Deputies caught up with the man outside a coffee shop on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. The man had been previously convicted of shoplifting and loitering. When they served the warrant, the man became confrontational. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him to Santa Rita Jail.
