Disrupted a Business

Sunday, December 3: at 9:55 a.m., Sheriff's deputies arrested a 27-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of violating a restraining order and possessing methamphetamine drugs and related drug paraphernalia. The man was spotted within 100 yards of the business on Redwood Road near Grove Way. Deputies were dispatched to the scene after the store manager called. The man was taken into custody.

 

Spousal Assault and Vandalism

Sunday, December 3: at 11:07 a.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way. There, deputies arrested a 24-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of spousal assault and damaging private property. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Reckless Driver Puts Two in Jail

Sunday, December 3: at 2:53 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested two people from Castro Valley at the intersection of Castro Valley Boulevard and John Drive following a traffic stop for reckless driving. The driver, a 24-year-old man, was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Deputies also arrested the 22-year-old woman passenger. She was found to have an outstanding warrant for assault and battery against a peace officer. Deputies took the couple to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Arrested for Assault

Saturday, December 2: at 1:20 p.m., a 25-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of assault on a family member and destroying a cell phone used to call for help. Deputies responded to an altercation outside a Castro Valley Boulevard and Wilbeam Avenue business. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Drunk and Disorderly

Friday, December 1: at 4:37 p.m., deputies arrested a 58-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of public intoxication and resisting arrest. The man was hanging out in the parking lot of a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies stopped him for questioning. The man was found to be intoxicated but became confrontational. Deputies took him into custody.

 

Attempted Robbery

Thursday, November 30: at 4:54 p.m., a 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery from a discount store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Chester Street. Deputies were dispatched to the scene after the manager called to report the crime. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Shoplifter Caught

Tuesday, November 28: at 7:05 p.m., deputies arrested a 40-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of shoplifting from a gas station on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road. The man was spotted leaving with unpaid merchandise. Deputies took the man into custody.

 

Joy Ride Ends in Two Arrests

Tuesday, November 28: at 12:10 a.m., two 22-year-old men from Castro Valley were arrested on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle. Deputies stopped the men at the intersection of Castro Valley Boulevard and Wisteria Street after running the license plate and discovering the vehicle was reported stolen. The men were handcuffed and taken into custody.
