Two Arrested in Valentine's Day Gun Sale
Monday, February 14: at 12:23 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men on suspicion of possession of and sale of illegal guns with high-capacity magazines following a traffic stop on Castro Valley Boulevard near Strobridge Avenue. A 20-year-old and 19-year-old were parked underneath Interstate 580 when deputies arrived and stopped them for questioning. Both men were charged with possession of and attempted sale of the guns, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a stolen gun. Deputies handcuffed the pair and took them into custody.
Death Threats and Resisting Arrest
Saturday, February 12: at 11:17 a.m., two people from Castro Valley were arrested following an investigation into death threats coming from a home on Chloe Court near Jennifer Drive. Deputies questioned a 65-year-old woman at one address on the court, but she refused to cooperate. The woman was arrested for resisting arrest. Thirty minutes later, a 25-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested in the court on suspicion of making death threats. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.
Wanted ID Thief Caught in Stolen Car
Saturday, February 12: at 5:49 p.m., deputies arrested a 57-year-old man from Castro Valley as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man had been convicted of multiple charges of impersonating another person and was in violation of his parole. Deputies served the warrant in the parking lot of a grocery store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road when they discovered that the vehicle, he was driving was reported stolen. Deputies added two counts of possession of a stolen car and took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
Drug Dealer Caught
Friday, February 11: at 8:36 p.m., a 48-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs packaged for sale. Deputies stopped the man near the intersection of Redwood Road and Lorena Avenue following a traffic stop. The man was found with the drugs in the car. Deputies took him to Santa Rita Jail.
Arrested for Underage Pornography
Thursday, February 10: at 9:58 p.m., deputies arrested a 21-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of pornography of minors. The woman was at a home on Badding Road near Parsons Road when deputies arrived for questioning. Deputies confiscated an unspecified amount of evidence and took the woman into custody.
Elder Abuse
Thursday, February 10: at 5:43 p.m., a 40-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of causing bodily harm to a senior. Deputies responded to an anonymous call about an altercation in the parking area of Castro Village near the bowling alley. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Two Caught with Burglar Tools
Wednesday, February 9: at 5:10 a.m., deputies arrested two people with no permanent residence on suspicion of possession of burglar tools and drugs outside the old Castro Valley Library on Redwood Road. Deputies pulled the couple over because the 27-year-old man was driving a vehicle that was reported stolen. He was additionally charged with giving deputies a false ID. The 25-year-old woman was additionally charged with possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. Deputies took the couple to Santa Rita Jail.
Wanted Man Fights with Deputy
Tuesday, February 8: at 12:22 a.m., a 20-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his arrest. Deputies stopped the man for questioning outside a drug store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Wilbeam Avenue. The man had previously been charged with car theft, assault with a deadly weapon, and assault on a peace officer. Deputies report the man provided them with a false ID and had stolen property in his backpack. The man became uncooperative and reportedly assaulted the deputy. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
