Spousal Assault
Tuesday, January 18: at 12:15 a.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to an apartment on Forrest Avenue near Omega Avenue. There, they arrested a 61-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of spousal assault. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Busted for Drugs
Sunday, January 16: at 12:22 p.m., deputies arrested a 35-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs and related drug paraphernalia. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Yeandle Avenue when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.
Public Intoxication
Saturday, January 15: at 12:01 a.m., a 23-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies spotted the man walking on Forrest Avenue near Heyer Avenue but stopping every few steps to stand up straight. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken to a sobering center.
Recycling Theft
Saturday, January 15: at 9:08 p.m., deputies arrested a 31-year-old woman with no permanent residence on suspicion of illegal possession of recycling materials and illegal drug paraphernalia. The woman was spotted in the back area of a grocery store on East Castro Valley Boulevard in the 580 Market Place center. Deputies responded to a call from a store manager who reported the woman taking recycling materials out of a restricted area. The woman was taken into custody.
Elder Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Saturday, January 15: at 12:02 a.m., a 50-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of elder abuse and assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies were called to a home on Rizzo Avenue near Lake Chabot Road following a call about an altercation at the property. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Wanted Man Skipped Court Appearance
Saturday, January 15: at 9:41 a.m., deputies arrested a 32-year-old man from Castro Valley as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man had failed to appear in court to face two undisclosed felony charges. Deputies served the warrant at an apartment on Grove Way near Redwood Road. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $70,000 in bail.
Parolee Charged with Damaging Trees
Saturday, January 15: at 4:30 p.m., a 43-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of violating the terms of his parole and damaging trees on private property. Deputies responded to a report of a vagrant on Eden Canyon Road a half-mile north of Interstate 580 cutting down foliage. The man was taken into custody.
Senior Citizen Assaulted Deputy
Thursday, January 13: at 7:31 p.m., deputies arrested an 81-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assaulting a peace officer in the line of duty. The man was traveling on Lake Chabot Road near Eden Medical Center when deputies stopped him for questioning. Deputies report the man became confrontational and landed several blows on the officer. The man was taken into custody.
Drunk with a Stolen Vehicle
Wednesday, January 12: at 12:59 a.m., a 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and public intoxication. Deputies stopped the man as he was parked outside a convenience store on Redwood Road near Grove Way. The man was outside the vehicle at the time and showed signs of intoxication. He failed his field sobriety test and deputies took the man into custody.
Drunk, Drugged, and Carrying a Loaded Weapon
Monday, January 10: at 9:40 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 40-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, driving with a suspended license, possession of illegal narcotics, and illegal possession of a firearm. The man was traveling on Grove Way near ShadySpring Road when deputies stopped him for speeding. Deputies took the man into custody.
