Petty Theft and Battery
Sunday, January 22: at 7:15 p.m., Sheriff's deputies arrested a 62-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of petty theft, assault and battery, and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was spotted leaving a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road with unpaid merchandise, where he got into an altercation with the owner. Deputies responded, stopped the suspect, and took him into custody.
Possession of Methamphetamine Drugs
Saturday, January 21: at 10:15 p.m., a 36-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine drugs and related drug paraphernalia. Deputies caught up with the man behind a business on Redwood Road near Grove Way following a report of a suspicious person. The man revealed his stash during questioning and was taken into custody.
Charged with Trespassing
Saturday, January 21: at 9:01 p.m., deputies arrested a 40-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of trespassing. The woman was spotted in a restricted area of a mobile home park on Castro Valley Boulevard near Center Street. Deputies handcuffed the woman and took her into custody.
Wanted Man with Drugs
Friday, January 20: at 12:50 p.m., a 37-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his arrest. The man was previously charged with possession of stolen property. Deputies caught up with the man and served the warrant at a gas station on Center Street near Grove Way. During questioning, deputies found methamphetamine drugs and related drug paraphernalia in the man's pockets. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
Caught Loitering
Saturday, January 21: at 3:00 a.m., deputies arrested a 29-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of loitering. The man was spotted hanging outside a home at the intersection of Somerset Avenue and Santa Maria Avenue. Residents reported the man as suspicious because he had been sitting outside the home for several hours. Deputies took the man into custody.
Drugs in Pocket
Wednesday, January 18: at 12:31 a.m., a 42-year-old woman with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal narcotics. Deputies stopped the woman for questioning outside a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. During the investigation, the woman revealed the drugs in her pocket. Deputies took her into custody.
Shoplifter Caught
Tuesday, January 17: at 11:30 p.m., deputies arrested a 34-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of shoplifting and possession of illegal narcotics. The man was stopped near the intersection of Wilbeam Avenue and Castro Valley Boulevard following a report that the man left a nearby business with unpaid merchandise. Deputies report the man also found fentanyl and methamphetamine drugs in his possession. The man was taken into custody.
