Joy Ride Ends in Arrest
Sunday, January 29: at 11:15 p.m., Sheriff's deputies pulled over and arrested a 33-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle, possessing a stolen vehicle, receiving stolen property, and possessing illegal narcotics. The woman was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Anita Avenue when deputies ran the license plates and found the vehicle reported stolen. The woman was taken into custody.
Drugs in His Pocket
Saturday, January 28: at 6:47 a.m., a 22-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal narcotics and related drug paraphernalia. Deputies stopped the man for questioning outside a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road, where they discovered the drugs in his pocket. The man was taken into custody.
Fighting with Hospital Security
Friday, January 27: at 1:23 a.m., deputies arrested a 44-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of interfering with a law enforcement official while on duty. The woman was visiting a friend at Eden Medical Center on Lake Chabot Road when she got into an altercation with hospital security. Deputies took the woman into custody.
Two Arrested in Fraud Scheme Turned Violent
Wednesday, January 25: at 10:00 p.m., two people from Castro Valley were arrested following a report of an altercation outside a restaurant on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Deputies responded to the scene following a call from the manager that a 27-year-old woman tried to purchase food with a stolen credit card. A 52-year-old man accompanying the woman began to argue with the manager, damaged private property and assaulted him with a deadly weapon. Deputies handcuffed the pair and took them into custody. The manager was treated at the scene.
Arrested for Interfering with Nurses
Wednesday, January 25: at 11:26 p.m., deputies arrested a 33-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of interfering with on-duty nurses at Eden Medical Center. Deputies were called in after the man became confrontational. The man was additionally charged with providing a false ID to authorities. Deputies took him into custody.
Domestic Assault
Tuesday, January 24: at 10:45 a.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to an apartment on Grove Way near Redwood Road. There, they arrested a 39-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
