Wanted Couple Busted for Drugs

Monday, June 27: at 8:50 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested two people with no permanent residence as part of warrants issued for their capture. A 53-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were hanging out in the parking lot of a grocery store at the intersection of Redwood Road and Grove Way when deputies stopped them for questioning and made a positive ID on their drug-related warrants. Both individuals were charged with possession of illegal narcotics, methamphetamine drugs, and related drug paraphernalia. Deputies took the couple to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Robbery and Spousal Battery

Tuesday, June 28: at 1:04 a.m., a 42-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of robbery, spousal battery, receiving stolen goods, vandalism, and possession of illegal narcotics and related drug paraphernalia. Deputies responded to an alarm outside a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Wisteria Street when they found the man in the back parking area. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Disruption at Eden Hospital

Monday, June 27: at 11:37 a.m., deputies arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of disrupting a business and refusing to leave when asked to by the manager. The man had been visiting someone at Eden Medical Center on Lake Chabot Road when deputies report he became confrontational with nurses and security. The man was asked to leave and refused. Deputies took the man into custody.

 

Wanted for Elder Abuse

Monday, June 27: at 11:02 a.m., a 40-year-old man was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man had been previously charged with elder abuse and assault and battery. Deputies stopped the man and made a positive ID on the warrant while he was traveling on Cull Canyon Road near Heyer Avenue. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Shoplifter Arrested

Wednesday, June 29: at 8:09 p.m., deputies arrested a 35-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of shoplifting. The man was caught by security leaving the Castro Valley Marketplace on Castro Valley Boulevard with unpaid merchandise. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him into custody.

 

Breaking and Entering

Thursday, June 30: at 2:52 a.m., a 57-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man had been previously charged with breaking and entering an abandoned building. Deputies stopped the man for questioning and made the positive ID for the warrant at a gas station on Grove Way near Center Street. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Two Busted for Ghost Guns and Petty Theft

Thursday, June 30: at 11:19 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested two people on petty theft and illegal gun possession charges on Castro Valley Boulevard near the Interstate 238 onramp. The driver, a 44-year-old woman was charged with driving with an expired license registration. The passenger, a 36-year-old man also had a warrant issued for a previous assault charge. Both suspects were charged with illegal possession of assault weapons, ghost guns with the registration rubbed out, and illegal possession of loaded and concealed weapons. Deputies took the couple to Santa Rita Jail.
