Sheriff’s Report: November 6 - 13

Two Arrested for Illegal Drug Use

Friday, November 10: at 2:57 p.m., Sheriff's deputies arrested two transient men on suspicion of using and possessing illegal drug paraphernalia. The men were loitering behind a fast-food restaurant on Castro Valley Boulevard near Yeandle Avenue. Deputies report they arrested a 32-year-old man and a 28-year-old man at the scene. The younger man was also found to have a warrant issued for his capture. The men were taken into custody.

 

Assaulted Family Members

Thursday, November 9: at 10:12 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home near Castro Valley Boulevard and Rizzo Avenue. There, they arrested a 30-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member and a juvenile. The man was taken into custody. The victims were treated at the scene.

 

Arrested for Stalking, Resisting Arrest

Thursday, November 9: at 8:21 p.m., deputies arrested a 24-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of violating a restraining order and resisting arrest. The man was reported within 100 yards of a home on Lake Chabot Road near Somerset Avenue. Deputies dispatched to the scene tried to remove the man from the property, but he became confrontational. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Spousal Assault

Thursday, November 9: at 11:46 a.m., a 22-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of spousal assault. Deputies were called to an apartment on Strobridge Avenue near the Interstate 580 freeway in response to a call about an altercation at the property. The woman was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Elder Abuse

Wednesday, November 8: at 11:16 a.m., deputies arrested a 43-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of elder abuse. The man was at a home on Bret Harte Court near Edwin Markham Drive when deputies responded to an emergency call. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Breaking and Entering, Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Tuesday, November 7: at 12:00 p.m., a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of breaking and entering into a building on San Carlos Avenue and Park Way, as well as assault with a deadly weapon. The man also had a warrant issued for his capture for a previous conviction of threatening with a deadly weapon and contempt of court. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Warrant Served for Repeated Stay-Away Violation

Tuesday, November 7: at 9:25 a.m., deputies arrested a 38-year-old woman from Castro Valley as part of a warrant issued for her capture. When deputies served the warrant, the woman was at a home on Heyer Avenue near Center Street. The woman had been previously convicted of four counts of violating a restraining order and disorderly conduct. Deputies took the woman to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Drove Intoxicated

Tuesday, November 7: at 5:45 a.m., a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Deputies pulled the man over on Palomares Road, 1.5 miles south of Palo Verde Road. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
